The following announcement is from the SIS:

Southern Idaho Section – Special Announcement

Based on the results of the recent survey and to better represent ASCE in Eastern Idaho, the ASCE-SIS board is pleased to announce the formation of the Eastern Idaho Committee. Kelly Hoopes, PE of Horrocks Engineers has volunteered to serve as the committee chair. The purposes of the Eastern Idaho Committee are to:

1. Elevate the level of practice of engineering in Eastern Idaho.

2. Increase the level of interest and membership within ASCE throughout Eastern Idaho.

3. Increase interaction between local professionals and student chapters/clubs (BYU-Idaho & Idaho State University)

4. Provide a forum for networking and interaction between professionals.

We understand that there may be many civil engineers working in Eastern Idaho who are not current ASCE members, so please forward this invitation to colleagues and coworkers who may be interested. ASCE membership is not required to participate in ASCE meetings. The Eastern Idaho Committee will function under the Southern Idaho Section of ASCE and will be responsible for arranging meetings in Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and Pocatello.
